For your enjoyment and planning purposes we have selected morning tours that may be of interest and will provide a snapshot of the unique culture and majestic scenery of our beautiful province. Please take the opportunity to read about optional tours.
Monday Morning Tour Coastal Community Exploration $65/ person(5 hours)Today we will go "around the Bay" along the picturesque coastline of Conception Bay, the home of pirates of centuries ago. We will stop along the way for picture taking and to visit some of the more interesting villages such as Brigus, one of the historic sailing ports of Conception Bay and home of the late, famous Captain Bob Bartlett. The trip then takes us to a museum in winding through other outport communites such as Bay Roberts and Port De Grave before heading back to St. John's. Our guide will regale you with the history culture and language of the Newfoundland people. Also included is a stop in Brigus or Cupids for tea.
Tuesday Morning Tour "The Rock" and Culture Tour $55/ person(3 hours)First off the group will visit the newly designed GEO Centre. As soon as you enter the Johnson GEO Centre, you know you're in for an "out of this world" experience. From the main lobby, you'll gaze out at the breathtaking, full-colour planets of our solar system, hanging within the three-storey high Reception Hall. It's simply spectacular. From there we visit the Newfoundland and Labrador Folk Arts Council facility, located in the Historic Devon Row area of downtown St. Jolhn's, the facility hosts the the finest in artisan works the province has to offer. Next we are off to the new Newfoundland and Labrador Art Gallery located in The Rooms. This facility, opened in June of 2005, overlooks St. John's and features local artists as well as touring exhibits.
Thursday Morning Tour Outports and Lucky Rocks $45/ person(3 hours)This is a leisurely drive along the Atlantic coast stopping to visit such highlights as the seals in Logy Bay; the beach in Middle Cove where you can put your feet in the Atlantic Ocean or look for "lucky rocks" to use as paperweights or as a satiny smooth souvenir; the lookout at Flat Rock where the rocks slope so smoothly into the sea that they make a natural slipway.
